James L. Peterson, 74, of Ontario, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 19, 2014 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield.
Born April 13, 1940 in Mansfield, he was the son of Fred and Velma (Gimbel) Peterson. A graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, James owned Fun Center Towing and Repair and also operated two Sohio Stations. An auto racing fan, he was also a member of the Fun Center Corvette Club and owned several collector cars. James was also a past treasurer of the Mansfield FOP.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Pat Peterson of Ontario; step children, Mark Bloom of Columbus and Sallie Neal of Lexington; grandchildren, Hannah, Mitchell, Clay (Ericka), Austin (Gretchen), and Shelby; and sons, Anthony and Timothy Peterson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of James L. Peterson.
