ONTARIO, Ohio–Motorists in Ontario receiving traffic warnings for the last several weeks have had the opportunity to donate toys in exchange for the warnings. The Ontario Police Department’s Toys for Tots campaign ran from Dec. 1-20. There’s still one more day to donate toys.
The Ontario Police Department, along with The Richland County Young Marines and Toys For Tots Coordinator Douglas Flinn, will be gathering the last of the donated toys at the Ontario Police Department on Dec. 21 at 3 p.m.
All of the collected toys will be picked up by Douglas Flinn and the Richland County Young Marines and then transported to the warehouse for distribution to local children.
Toys for Tots is a program of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve. The mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
