Steven J. Goddard, 61, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014.
Steven was born on Sept. 22, 1953, to Leonard J. and Donna L. (Joseph) Goddard. He graduated from Madison High School in 1972, and retired from Raintree. Steve loved sports. He especially followed the Cavaliers, Indians, Browns, and Buckeyes. He attended all the Madison sports activities. He loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews. He liked to swim and play video games.
He is survived by his parents, Leonard and Donna Goddard; one brother, Dale (Gala) Goddard of Bellville; one sister, Kathy (York) Oswalt of Mansfield; four nieces, Aimee Jerger, Colleen (Adam) Decaire, Emily Oswalt, and Amanda Oswalt; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Patrick Jerger, Alex Jerger, Zane Jerger, Mackenzie Jerger, Zachary Decaire, Ryan Decaire, and Zoey Decaire.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Mildred Joseph and Darl and Sylvia Goddard.
Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
