Edna Ray, 79, of Mansfield, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield. Born Jan. 22, 1935 in Grundy, VA, she was the daughter of Charley and Onie (Childress) Stump. Edna attended My Fathers House Church with her great-grandson. She loved bowling, shopping, and cooking for family dinners, especially Christmas. Most of all, Edna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Polk; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Ray; children, Vivian Carol Bennette, Emmett W. Ray, and Linda Sue Whitaker; and granddaughter, Jolene Wilison.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Edna Ray.
