Jeanne Edgerton, 87, of Lexington, died December 13, 2014. Born May 7, 1927 in Ottumwa, Iowa, she was the daughter of Roy and Maude (Majors) Renfrew. Jeanne worked for Ohio Bell in Iowa before transferring to Ohio and eventually retiring from Sprint as a supervisor.
In her free time, she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, traveling to Florida and Iowa, and mushroom hunting. More than anything, she enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Jeanne was a member of the Bellville American Legion.
Surviving are her children, Denise (Thomas) Trent of Jeromesville, Trent (Vanessa) Edgerton of Lexington, and Todd (Audrey) Edgerton of Hancock, MD; grandchildren, Travis Trent, Derek Darling, Amanda Edgerton, Kayla Edgerton, Ashley (William) Frederick, Kelly Edgerton, and Austin Edgerton; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Alivia, Grace, Ryleigh, Colt, and Kathryn; brother, Wayne (Wanda) Renfrew of Ottumwa, IA; sister, Donna Gardner of Ottumwa, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Edgerton; brother, Richard Renfrew; sister, Reva Holzhauser; and granddaughter, Angela Darling.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario with Rector Emeritus David S. Sipes officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit for one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
