Esther (Greene) Horvath, 74, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014.
Esther was born on March 9, 1940, in Lucasville, OH, to Cecil L. and Mallie M. (Alley) Greene. Esther enjoyed gardening, visiting with her neighbors, and going to Paul Revere’s Restaurant to eat and socialize with friends and family. She also enjoyed playing games on her computer. Esther came to Mansfield and started working at Ideal Electric, when she met her husband of 54 years, Frank Horvath. She also worked for Avon, Kirby, and retired from State Farm Insurance after many years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Greg) Gerich of Mansfield; granddaughter, Melissa Snively of Shelby; two step-grandchildren, Andrea Gerich and Michael Gerich, both of Mansfield; and two siblings, Albert (Wanita) Greene of AK, and Mary (Bill) Hayes of TN.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on Oct. 11, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Vina Withrow and Leonard Greene.
Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jill Waite officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
