Sue Spoon, 76, of Galion, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at home after a short illness.
Born November 5, 1938 in Columbus, Ind. to Russell Hilderbrand and Nellie (Ney) Hillerbrand, Sue attended school in Cortland, Ind. and married W. Leroy Spoon on January 5, 1957.
Sue retired from General Motors in Ontario where she worked in Production. She was a member of Crossway Church in Galion and loved raising and spoiling her family, especially her grandchildren. Sue enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, W. Leroy Spoon, she is survived by her daughter Cathy Tammer of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Suzanne (Matt) Conrad of Bellville and Lisa Tammer of Galion; great-grandchildren Paul Trouten, Kaitlin Conrad, Alyssa Tammer and Emily Conrad; a brother, Robert Hilderbrand of Columbus, Ind. and a sister, Anita (Dallas) Taylor of Columbus, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her son, Paul Spoon, a brother, William Hilderbrand and a sister, Lillian Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 5 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson-Davis Chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 5 with Pastor Jeff Shaull officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
