The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced the following closings and detours for the week of Sept. 22:
Ashland County
State Route 3
SR 3, between County Road 3275 and County Road 739 in Hanover Township, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour routing for northbound motorists is SR 3 to State Route 205, south on SR 205 to State Route 514, north on SR 514 to State Route 39, west on SR 39 to SR 3. The detour routing for southbound motorists is SR 3 to State Route 97, west on SR 97 to State Route 95, west on SR 95 to State Route 13, south on SR 13 to SR 3. The road is expected to reopen in early October, 2014.
US Route 42 & State Route 60
US 42, between US Route 250 and the village of West Salem, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a smooth seal pavement project. The project also includes SR 60 south of US Route 30. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in June 2015.
State Route 89 – ***NEW***
SR 89, one-quarter-mile south of County Road 620 in Jackson Township, will close Monday, September 22 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 89 to State Route 302, west on SR 302 to State Route 58, north on SR 58 to SR 89, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen October 2, 2014.
Township Road 63
Township Road 63, between US Route 250 and Township Road 1300 in Perry Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project. Detour will be posted. The road is expected to reopen October 9, 2014.
Township Road 1500 – ***NEW***
TR 1500, between Township Road 523 and State Route 89, will close Monday, September 22 for a bridge replacement project. Detour will be posted. The road is expected to reopen November 6, 2014.
Crawford County
US Route 30
US 30, between the County Road 330 interchange and West Fourth Street interchange in Richland County, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all time in each direction. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.
State Route 61/State Route 309
SR 61/SR 309 (Portland Way South) from Harding Way to Grove Avenue in the City of Galion is closed for southbound traffic as part of the rehabilitation and widening project. Northbound traffic is reduced to a one-way street. Traffic use Harding Way, State Route 19 and State Route 288 as alternate routes. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.
State Route 598, just north of State Route 19 in the City of Galion, is closed for bridge reconstruction as part of this project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to State Route 19, west on SR 19 to State Route 602, north on SR 602 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen November 17, 2014.
Richland County
State Route 13
SR 13, one-quarter-mile south of US 30 in the City of Mansfield, is closed for a bridge repair project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 13 to East 5th Street, east on East 5th Street to Newman Street, north on Newman Street to East Longview Avenue, west on East Longview Avenue to SR 13, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in late October 2014.
State Route 13/State Route 96
SR 13, at its overlap with State Route 96, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for SR 13 motorists is SR 13 to SR 96, west on SR 96 to State Route 61, north on SR 61 to US 224, east on US 224 to SR 13, and reverse for southbound motorists. The detour route for SR 96 motorists is SR 96 west to SR 61, north on SR 61 to State Route 603, south on SR 603 to SR 13, south on SR 13 to SR 96, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on October 17, 2014.
Interstate 71
I-71, from the Morrow County line to just south of State Route 39 (between mile markers 158 and 172), has intermittent lane closures as part of a spot patching pavement repair project. I-71 is reduced to two lanes of traffic beginning at 9PM through 6AM the following morning each night through the week. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained during the daytime hours; however, one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction at night. The project is expected to be complete in late September 2014.
State Route 95
SR 95, between the Knox County line and the village of Butler, has intermittent single lane closures for work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in July 2015.
State Route 603
SR 603, just north of Faulk Road in Weller Township, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 603 to State Route 96, east on SR 96 to Claremont Avenue, south on Claremont Avenue to US Route 42, south on US 42 to SR 603, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on October 18, 2014.
Five Points Road – ***NEW***
Five Points Road (County Road 259), between State Route 13 and Brubaker Creek Road, which was originally scheduled to close Tuesday, September 23, will now close Monday, September 29 for a bridge replacement project. Detour will be posted. The road is expected to reopen in mid-November, 2014.
