Charles L. Gardner Jr., 74, Galion, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at Galion Pointe Nursing Home, Galion.
Charles was born in Columbus on Jan. 15, 1940, to the late Charles and Mary (Maneely) Gardner, Sr. He married Jean A. Jarvis on Aug. 4, 1972, and she survives him.
He was retired from Brosco, Mansfield as a Machinist. Along with his wife, Jean, Charles has managed the Hyatt Apartments in Galion since 2002. Charles enjoyed woodworking and leatherworking. He loved helping his children and he was proud to be a good provider.
He is survived by his three sons Eric & Jennifer Gardner, Wilmington, NC, Michael & Tammy Smith, Galion, Edward & Brande Smith, New Philadelphia; his six grandchildren, his four great-grandchildren, and his two sisters Shirley and Mary “Mitzi”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Gardner.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Mansfield Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Wheeler officiating.
