Alberta M. Spencer, 95, of Crestline, went home in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Mill Creek Nursing, Galion, after a lengthy illness.
Alberta was born in Ford City, PA on Nov. 5, 1918 to the late Zarie and Bertha M. (Hill) Nimerosky. She married Herman D. Spencer on Nov. 5, 1937 and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2005.
Alberta lived in Crestline since 1961 coming from Ford City, PA. She was a member of the Calvary United Church of Christ in Crestline. She retired as a Nurse’s Aide from the former Crestline Memorial Hospital after nine years of service. She had previously worked at the Crestline Nursing home for several years. Alberta was a member of the Crestline Golden Age Club, where she helped plan many of their trips. She also worked the funnel cake stand at the festivals around the area. Alberta was also a member of the Birthday Club.
Alberta is survived by: her daughter, Sandra Spencer of Crestline; her sons, Randy and Susan Spencer of Crestline; and Craig Spencer, Big Pine Key, FL; her eight grandchildren, Debra & Terry Robinette, Sharon and Glenn Rinehart, Ryan Spencer and Reece Spencer, all of Florida, Renee and Glenn Boyd, Crestline, Randy Spencer, Ontario, Kelly and Ken Schroeder, Lexington, Natalie and Michael Rynard, Carlisle, PA; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and her brother, Nason Nimerosky, Ford City, PA.
In addition to her husband, Alberta was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Spencer, her grandson, Erin Michael Schroeder, her granddaughter, Jamie Stewart Wynne, her brother, Roy Nimerosky and her friend Wayne Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at the Calvary United Church of Christ, Crestline, at a later date.
