The Ohio Department of Transportation has released its construction update for the week of Aug. 25.

ASHLAND COUNTY

US Route 42 & State Route 60

US 42, between US Route 250 and the village of West Salem, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a smooth seal pavement project. The project also includes SR 60 south of US Route 30. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in June 2015.

State Route 60

SR 60, one-quarter-mile north of County Road 1754, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 60 to US Route 30, west on US 30 to State Route 511, north on SR 511 to SR 60, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 25, 2014.

State Route 302/State Route 511 

The intersection of State Route 511 and State Route 302 west is closed for work to improve drainage at the intersection. The detour route for SR 511 northbound motorists is SR 511 to US Route 250, west on US 250 to State Route 60, north on SR 60 to US Route 224, east on US 224 to SR 511, and reverse for southbound motorists.  The detour route for SR 302 eastbound motorists is SR 302 to US 250, east on US 250 to SR 511, north on SR 511 to SR 302, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen August 27, 2014.

State Route 511 – ***NEW***

SR 511, between State Route 302 east and Township Road 964, will close Wednesday, August 27 for two culvert replacements. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 511 to SR 302, west on SR 302 to US Route 250, east on US 250 to SR 511, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen September 10, 2014.

Township Road 63 – ***NEW***

Township Road 63, between US Route 250 and Township Road 1300 in Perry Township, will close Monday, August 25 for a bridge replacement project. Detour will be posted. The road is expected to reopen October 9, 2014.

CRAWFORD COUNTY

US Route 30

US 30, between the County Road 330 interchange and West Fourth Street interchange in Richland County, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all time in each direction. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.

State Route 61/State Route 309 – ***UPDATE***     

SR 61/SR 309 (Portland Way South) from Harding Way to Grove Avenue in the City of Galion is closed for southbound traffic as part of the rehabilitation and widening project. Northbound traffic is reduced to a one-way street. Traffic use Harding Way, State Route 19 and State Route 288 as alternate routes. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.

  • ·         State Route 598, just north of State Route 19 in the City of Galion, is closed for bridge reconstruction as part of this project.  The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to State Route 19, west on SR 19 to State Route 602, north on SR 602 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopenNovember 17, 2014.     

State Route 598 

SR 598, just north of State Route 96 in Vernon Township, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to SR 96, east on SR 96 to State Route 39, west on SR 39 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-October 2014.

RICHLAND COUNTY

State Route 13

SR 13, one-quarter-mile south of US 30 in the City of Mansfield, is closed for a bridge repair project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 13 to East 5th Street, east on East 5th Street to Newman Street, north on Newman Street to East Longview Avenue, west on East Longview Avenue to SR 13, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in October 2014.

US Route 30 & Reed Road 

US 30 westbound, at its interchange with Reed Road, is reduced to one lane of traffic. The entrance and exit ramps with Reed Road and US 30 west are closed as well through late August. Detour is posted. This work is part of a bridge repair project. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.

US Route 42

US 42, one-quarter-mile south of Kings Corners Road in Troy Township, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a bridge replacement project. One lane of two-way traffic is being maintained with a temporary traffic signal through late August 2014.

Pleasant Valley Road – ***NEW***

County Road 303 (Pleasant Valley Road), between Washington-South Road and Pulver Road in Washington Township, will close Monday, August 25 as part of a bridge replacement project. Detour will be posted. The road is expected to reopen October 9, 2014.

State Route 603

State Route 603, just north of Faulk Road in Weller Township, will close Wednesday, September 3 for a culvert replacement.

The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 603 to State Route 96, east on SR 96 to Claremont Avenue, south on Claremont Avenue to US Route 42, south on US 42 to SR 603, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on October 18, 2014.
