Robert Fournier, 75, of Mansfield passed away Aug. 19, 2014, at MedCentral Health System.
Robert was born April 2, 1939 in Manistee, Michigan to Wilfred and Celia Wojciechowski Fournier. He graduated in Detroit in1957 and later joined the United States Air Force where he was stationed in the Philippines Islands. He worked at Sprint for over 30 years and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church for over 45 years. Robert was a devoted husband and father who also enjoyed fishing, electronics, astronomy and aviation.
Survivors include his sons David Fournier of Tucson, AZ, Jeff (Lisa) Fournier of Cleveland, Andrew (Carrie) Fournier of Mansfield; grandchildren Honor Fournier, Jacob Latorre, Conner Fournier, brother Michael (Patricia) Fournier of Mansfield; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary, granddaughter Fiona, brothers James and Bill Fournier.
Friends may call at Herlihy-Chambers Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, on Friday from 3-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Hite officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery with military services provided by the Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Father Solanus Guild, or St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
