Sharon R. Hazen, 72, of Mansfield died Monday, August 11, 2014 at Liberty Nursing Center of Riverside, Cincinnati, OH of dementia due to Alzheimer’s.
Born October 29, 1942 and raised in Bellville, OH.
She had worked for Mansfield City Schools in Food Service for 25 years, Catherines Stout Shop, Kmart and Therm-O-Disc second shift food service. She enjoyed her time as a Girl Scout Leader and a volunteer for the Mansfield Playhouse. She loved the theatre, reading and Lake Erie beaches.
She is survived by her two children, Jeff Hazen of Mansfield, Jennifer Tinch of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Hazen of Jeromesville, Nathan Tinch of Cincinnati, Danny Tinch of Cincinnati; two great grandchildren, Jillian and Jaycee Hazen; three siblings, Brenda (Ray) Hood of Mansfield, Diana Nidiffer of Jamestown, NY, Craig (Nora) Shumaker of Bellville; mother Wanetta Shumaker of Bellville.
She was preceded in death by her father Curtis Shumaker of Bellville.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 4 to 5 p.m. with the Funeral Services immediately after at Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington-Springmill, Ontario, OH 44906 conducted by Rev. Christopher R. Thomas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
