Rosalind E. Pittenger, 86, of Ashland, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Lutheran Village of Ashland following an extended illness. Born March 7, 1928 in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Foster and Ruth (Muth) Ost.
A homemaker, Rosalind was a strong and loving mother who was very family oriented. She was well traveled and enjoyed baking and quilting. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Tim) LaFayette of Springfield, Ohio; a son, Ronald (Khush) Pittenger of Ashland, Ohio; and a grandson, Aaron Pittenger of Ashland, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Merle Dean Pittenger on March 4, 2002; and a sister, Vivian Crowl.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Julie Thoms. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9 – 10 a.m., at the funeral home on Wednesday.
