Last year, Richland County had both a confirmed case of West Nile virus and a confirmed case of La Crosse encephalitis. Both virus cases were caused from the bite of infected mosquitoes.
Richland Public Health is conducting weekly mosquito spraying in contracted areas. Those weekly sprayings are posted every Friday on the website and are available at: /learning-center/mosquito-spraying
Individuals may request spraying or exemption from the service by calling Richland Public Health at 419-774-4520.
Individuals, including beekeepers, with previous exemptions are asked to call Richland Public Health so that records may be updated.
Services may be delayed/cancelled due to low mosquito counts or due to adverse weather conditions including wind, rain, or low temperature.
Missed spray schedule due to adverse weather conditions/equipment malfunction or other may be made-up/substituted any morning or evening during that week.
