Donna “Donnie” Loftis, 60, of Ashland passed away Monday morning, July 7, 2014 in Gibsonburg, Ohio. She was born June 11, 1954 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Donnie loved to sing and play the piano and did public relations work for the music group “Just Passing Thru”. She continued her love of singing in the choir at Grace Brethren Church and also sang at many weddings. She was a member of the “Yellow Deli” bible study group in Mansfield. She was an avid Bible reader and thoroughly enjoyed arts and crafts of various kinds. Donnie had an eye for decorating and especially enjoyed Victorian style. She had formerly worked in the office at Grace Brethren Church and also at Archway and Kissinger Co.
She is survived by her father, Charles “Slim” (Donna R.) Loftis of Mansfield; four sisters, Diana “Kay” Marble, Debbie Sheriff and Dena (Jim) Chance, all of Ashland, Delinda “Pudgie” (Paul) Kennedy of GA; a brother, Charles “Charlie” (Laurie) Loftis, Jr. of Ashland; uncle, Carlton Loftis of Battle Creek, MI; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys N. “Pepper” Perryman Loftis; paternal grandparents, William and Wilma Loftis; and maternal grandparents, Bunk and Jessie Perryman.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Grace Brethren Church, 1144 W. Main St., Ashland. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Norm Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd., 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.
