Dora L. Boals Hignite, 82, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, following a lengthy illness.
Dora was born on October 2, 1931, in Crooksville, OH, to John W. and Alka M. Ward Boals. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, and fishing with her husband, Jack. She especially loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jack Hignite; three daughters, Christina (David) Schnittke of Jacksonville, FL, and Sue Mansfield and Judy (Ron) Slarb, all of Mansfield; five grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Margaret Worden.
Along with her parents, Dora was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wanda Lee Miller; one grandson, Scott Lee Hopkins; two great-grandsons, Corey Arbogast and Cody McBryde; two brothers, John Boals and Lee Boals; and three sisters, Eileen Starky, Geneva Havens, and Shirley Anders.
Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014. Burial will follow in Vermillion Cemetery.
