Kenneth E. Rogers, 88, of Lucas, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 while in the care of the Hospice House of Ashland.

Kenneth was born January 5, 1926 in New Rumley, Ohio and was the son of the late Elmer and Mary (Hutchinson) Rogers. He proudly served his country during WWII as a Gunnery Instructor in the U.S. Army Air Corp and received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and WWII Victory Medal. He retired from Westinghouse. Kenneth enjoyed bowling and was a member of the VFW.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 39 years, Naomi P. (Crawford) Rogers; four children, David and Patti Rogers of Hayesville, Sharon and Ron Malinowski of Lancaster, Kathy Ann Rinehart and Randy Rustch of Boulder, Colorado, and Kent and Mary Rinehart of Bellville; nine grandchildren, Stacey, Cassie, Josh, Shalimar, LeAndra, Kristin, Kevin, Kelly, and Kyle; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wesley Rinehart; and five siblings, Esther Bear, Vernon Rogers, Dorothy Ervin, Homer Rogers, and Lois Sidle.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Presnell officiating. Burial will follow in Vermillion Cemetery, Hayesville with full military honors performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
