A day-long Tree School is planned for May 3 in Ovalwood Hall at The Ohio State University at Mansfield. Whether you are a woodland owner, Christmas tree grower, gardener, wildlife enthusiast, landscaper, or just interested in learning more about trees, Tree School features a variety of educational sessions, both indoors and outdoors, on a variety of tree-related topics.
Attendees will learn about the correct way to plant a tree, the top landscape trees, how to identify plant diseases, mapping your property, how to identify birds by sight and sound on a bird walk through the woods, and much more.
Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Cost is $45 for the day. Speakers from Ohio State Extension and Ohio Department of Natural Resources will lead the sessions. The event is sponsored by Extension’s Woodland Stewards Program through the School of Environment and Natural Resources. For more information and to register, go to woodlandstewards.osu.edu.
