Monday evening at approximately 6:52 p.m., Deputy Andrew Knee and Lt. Don Zehner of the Richland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in reference to a domestic dispute at the residence of 6890 Follin Road in Bellville. The incident resulted in the arrest of Ryan Seevers.
Dispatch advised that a male suspect, (Ryan Seevers, 33), was damaging the residence and was seen crashing his vehicle, a Ford Ranger, into a nearby pond and had a gun in his hand, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office report states.
Upon arrival, the responding officers could see the vehicle partially submerged in the pond. The victim, 49, approached the officers and informed that the male was Seevers, her “live-in boyfriend.”
The report says that Seevers became upset when the victim asked him about his condition. Seevers then began damaging various items, including a television, microwave, and dishes, and grabbed her by the upper chest area. Afterwards, he drove his vehicle into the pond and then returned to the residence and kicked in the front door.
Seevers locked himself inside the house. Sheriff’s Maj. Joe Masi said that officers with the sheriff’s department, as well as ASORT and SWAT teams surrounded the residence, and Seevers ultimately surrendered. Deputy Knee transported him to the Richland County Jail.
Tuesday, Seevers was given a $10,000 cash bond on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence and ordered that he have electric monitoring and no contact with the victim.
According to the sheriff’s report, the victim said that she was sore after the altercation with Seevers; however, she did not receive medical treatment.
