On May 22, all commercial drivers that require a Department of Transportation medical card can only go to a certified medical examiner listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Division’s Natonal Registry.
Dr. Clark Iorio and Steve Strickling, PA-C, of Ohio Health MedCentral’s WorkAble have gone through all of the required education and testing and are certified providers on the National Registry. The remainder of the Occupational Medicine providers at WorkAble are in the process of being certified. There are very few certified providers in the greater Mansfield area.
It is the employer’s and independent driver’s responsibility to make certain that they have their required medical exam done by a certified National Registry Provider.
