On June 6, 82 of the 434 employees at CenturyLink in Mansfield will lose their current jobs. The lay-offs were announced on Tuesday, March 18, with the Small Business Contact Center and National Order Help Desk relocating to Florida and Wisconsin.
Market Development Manager Joanette Romero explained, “The Mansfield centers are closing as part of CenturyLink’s ongoing effort to remain competitive by reducing our cost structure, implementing best practices across the company, achieving operational efficiencies and improving customer service.”
The 82 employees have been offered a choice of following their current position to another center, applying for another position within the company, or taking a severance package. Any employee taking the severance package is also being offered outplacement assistance.
For those employees who choose to follow their current job to a new location, CenturyLink is also going to offer relocation assistance.
