Ronald D. Eden, 66, of Mansfield died March 30, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic following a long illness. Born June 3, 1947 in Olive Hill, KY, he was the son of Deloyce and Ruby (Parish) Eden. Ron moved to Lucas as a child and graduated from Lucas High School in 1965. He retired from AK Steel and also from the Adjutant Generals Office for the State of Ohio. Ron was a proud Vietnam Marine Corp veteran. He is a current member of AmVets and Owls. In his free time, he enjoyed classic cars and attending car shows. He also enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR and traveling to Hilton Head, SC with his family. His greatest love, however, was spending time with his family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and man.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Sue (Toms) Eden of Mansfield; daughter, Tiffany Eden of Mansfield; son, Matt (Jenny) Eden of Jackson; granddaughter, Madelyn and another on the way; brother, Bronis Eden of Mansfield; brothers in-law, Ed (Mary) Toms of Lucas and David Toms of Tacoma, WA; uncles, Darrell Parish of Mansfield and Norval Eden of Morehead, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Phil Green, will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Union Cemetery in Perrysville.
