Glenn Worley, 77, of Mansfield, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, March 22, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born March 30, 1936 in Kentucky to the late Zada “Jackie” (Allen) and Joseph Worley.

He retired from Mansfield City Schools where he worked in the maintenance department and had previously worked at Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. He was a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church and loved attending the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Glenn enjoyed being outdoors, tending his yard and working with his hands. His favorite scripture was “Love Never Fails.”

He was a faithful, generous man who often sat on the front porch waving to all who passed by and sharing a smile. He loved his family greatly and treasured his time with them.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lyla B. Lynch Worley; three children, Becky (Tom) Keith of Fairfax, VA, Linda (Michael) Carrocci of Sunbury and Sharon (Mark) Scheurer of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Josh, Lara, Ryan, Adam, David, Leah, Hope and Anna; six great-grandchildren, Geoffrey, Uriah, Lyla, Abby, Evangelina, Ivvie and twin boys due in July. Glenn was preceded in death by his son, Alan Glenn Worley.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
