It’s not too late for area businesses and agencies to nominate a female employee for the Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) program.
Nomination packets have been mailed to potential companies and organizations for the program which honors women throughout Richland County for professional and volunteer accomplishments. TWIN applications also are available on www.medcentral.org. All nominations are due by March 14.
The honorees will be introduced at the 30th Annual TWIN Banquet May 15 at the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.
OhioHealth MedCentral Hospitals, the largest employer of women in this region, is the corporate sponsor of TWIN which raises funds to help women seeking post-secondary training and education to enhance their job skills. Grants were awarded in 2013 to Madison Adult Education, Pioneer Adult Education, the North Central State College Foundation and the Mansfield City Schools Adult and Community Education.
In addition to honoring women for their leadership roles in the workplace, the program also presents a Corporate Achievement Award, along with the JoAnn Dutton Award for outstanding volunteerism. The top award is the Athena Award, sponsored by Richland Bank, for a woman’s distinguished service in the community.
Founded in 1985, TWIN has enabled local employers to honor more than 600 women. The nominations show not only the commitment of the TWIN honoree to her employer, but the commitment of the employer to provide an environment where women can reach their full potential.
