The Richland County Sheriff’s Office reported, at 9:24 a.m., that Richland County is under a Level 1 Snow Emergency. At 8:30 a.m. road conditions were icy and some vehicle accidents have been reported. Motorists should use caution.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland reported a hazardous weather outlook for north central Ohio at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9. Local counties in the report include Ashland, Crawford, Morrow, and Richland.

Last night’s snow accumulation was approximately two to three inches. And according to WeatherStreet.com, an additional snow accumulation of two to four inches is possible today.

The temperature at 9:45 a.m. was 21 degrees and temperatures are expected to remain in the low 20s today.

Snow is expected to taper off except in the snow belt where lake effect snow shower will develop this evening. Ohio’s snow belt is largely confined to the Cleveland area.

The report also includes northeast and northwest Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania.
