The city building in Ontario sits at 555 Stumbo Road.

The Richland County Republican party Central Committee Chairman Mark Arnold was notified that Ontario Councilman-at-Large Roger Heston submitted his letter of resignation “effective immediately.”

Heston was elected in the November General Election for a 4-year term beginnning January 2014.  

In an email to Mike Casto, Richland County Republican Party Chairman and Larry Collins, Ontario Council President, dated January 20th, Heston stated, “I regret to inform you that, effective immediately, I am resigning my Council At-Large at the City of Ontario for personal reasons.”

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 733.31 “filling vacancies in appointive or elective offices”, the four Republican Ontario Precinct Committeemen will meet to determine a replacement for the Council-at-Large position.

(2) Not less than five nor more than forty-five days after a vacancy occurs, the county central committee, acting through its members who reside in the city where the vacancy occurs, shall meet for the purpose of making an appointment. Not less than four days before the date of the meeting the chairperson or secretary of the central committee shall send by first class mail to every member of such central committee who resides in the city where the vacancy occurs a written notice which shall state the time and place of such meeting and the purpose thereof.
