Mansfield City Schools kindergarten registration for 2014-15 is scheduled Feb. 4 through Feb. 13. Children must be 5 years old by Sept. 30.

Parents or legal guardians must register children for kindergarten at the elementary school where the child will attend. Anyone unsure of their home school may call 419-525-6400, ext. 56440 for assistance.

The following documents will be required at registration: child’s birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security number, copy of custody papers if applicable and proof of residency (U.S. mail, utility bill or rental agreement).

Registration dates and times are: Feb. 4 from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. during parent-teacher conferences; Feb. 5 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Feb. 6 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Feb. 11 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Feb. 12 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; and Feb. 13 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m. during parent-teacher conferences.

Because activity in school offices can be especially hectic between noon and 1 p.m., those on tight schedules may want to consider another time.

Kindergarten screening will occur in the fall after school begins. Screening will include vision, hearing, speech and communication, medical problems and any developmental disorders. Screening will not affect a child’s eligibility to enter kindergarten.

In addition, Mansfield City Schools’ Spanish Immersion School will have its seventh annual kindergarten informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Families of prospective kindergarten students for the fall of 2014 are invited to attend the session in the school gym, Principal Jody Nash said.

The Spanish Immersion School is located at 240 Euclid Ave. For more information, call 419-525-6321.
