The local American Production and Inventory Control Society North Central Ohio Chapter received the 2013 The APICS Chapter Benchmarking and Recognition Sliver Award designation.
APICS is the American Production and Inventory Control Society. There are currently 37,000 plus professionals in the global network of supply chain and operations management. Many businesses in Mansfield, Ashland, and the surrounding counties are members of the North Central Ohio Chapter of APICS.
The Silver Award recognizes a Chapter that “shows commitment to providing an exceptional membership experience.”
The goals of APICS is to provide global leadership and act as a source of knowledge for operations management that include production, inventory, supply chain, materials management, purchasing, and logistics. The North Central Ohio Chapter has served Richland County along with surrounding counties for over 35 years.
The APICS North Central Ohio Chapter provides its members with the resources to become educated in different operations management in business. The chapter offers educational courses for a small fee as well as meetings and events to attend as a member of the chapter.
Meetings for the local chapter occur between September and May.

The Board of Directors for the APICs North Central Ohio Chapter is made up of many Richland County business employees.
Chapter President Bradley Weaver is a Supply Chain Scheduler at The Gorman-Rupp Company in Mansfield, Ohio where he has been employed since 2001. He has been with APICS since 2003 and took the role of President in 2009.
Vice President of Finance is Melanie Riggleman also of The Gorman-Rupp Company since 1980 where she is the Manufacturing Manager for Engineered Systems. She has been with APICS since 1984.
The Vice President of Marketing is Mary Furr of Warren-Rupp where she is the Senior Production Planner. She has been an APICS Member since 2008.
The Vice President of Membership is Eric Glazier is an Operations Manager at McGraw-Hill in Ashland Ohio. He has been an APICs Member since 1998.
Finally, the Vice President of Education is Christine Evans is a Demand Forecaster at the Gorman-Rupp Company of Mansfield. She joined the Chapter this year.
