On Nov. 8, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, acting on a tip, went to 169 W. First St. in Mansfield to apprehend a wanted felon on an outstanding warrant. Upon task force officers’ arrival, they located the wanted felon, Tremaine Manns and placed him under arrest.
While they were there, they discovered Reginald Arrington attempting to flush a significant amount of marijuana down the toilet. They also discovered a handgun that had been hidden in the tank of the toilet. Reginald Arrington was placed into custody and the residence was secured. At this time, task force officers contacted the METRICH Enforcement Unit for assistance in obtaining a search warrant.
METRICH detectives drafted a search warrant which was signed by the Honorable Judge Cockley.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., the search warrant was served. During the search, detectives recovered a significant amount of marijuana from the toilet, a loaded Smith & Wesson Model 19 .357 revolver and $8,608 in cash. Detectives also recovered numerous gallon size plastic bags which contained marijuana residue as well as other drug paraphernalia.
Reginald Arrington was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Having Weapons under Disability. He was incarcerated at the Richland County Jail pending his appearance in court. Other felony charges will be presented to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
