“First of all I would like to say welcome, we are delighted to have you here and to be a part of the community. The services you provide, everything you do is wonderful,”said Mayor of Ontario Larry Collins. Companions of Ashland Home Health Care Providers has opened a new location at 68 Briggs Drive in Ontario. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 10 a.m. at the new location to celebrate the expansion of company and the prospects of new jobs and services that will benefit residents of the community.

Tiffany Behrendsen, RN and CEO of Companions said that choosing the Ontario location made sense for the company and the community. “We wanted to expand to this area to offer affordable homecare at a centralized location,” she explained.

The Ontario location is the third location for Companions and besides offering home health care services, the new location offers STNA training and is a certified electronic testing sight for the State of Ohio. Individuals interested in the healthcare field can get all the training and testing needed to become a licensed STNA as well as continued training and support for their nursing degree.

Companions is dedicated to offering home health care services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Homecare assistance includes the services of STNAs, LPNs and RNs. According to Behredsen, Companions goal is to provide home care and home health services to the community in such a way that is easily accessible, safe and with the goal of keeping family and loved ones at home.

Behredsen also added that the need for affordable home care has increased and so has the interest for jobs in the industry. Along with being set up to provide STNA training and testing, the new location also provides area dedicated to offering a certified CPR course through the American Heart Association.

Kari Westfield of the Ontario Growth Corporation attended the ribbon cutting and stated, ”We are always excited about new businesses and Companions will be a great addition to our community. They provide a great service and great opportunity.”

Cindy Blough, manager of the Ashland location said, ”I think it’s great, more jobs for the community and providing care for the elderly. It’s a benefit for all in the community.”

Unique to Companions, according to Behrendsen, is their “team staffing” approach to helping clients and family to choosing the caregivers that will be providing the home health services. Behrendsen believes this specialized staffing technique helps to ensure clients and family of the best fit for their caregiver.

Behrendsen looks forward to providing jobs and care to the community and added that a fourth location will be opening in Bellville the beginning of October.

She urges those interested in joining their staff or looking for homecare services to visit their site www.companionsofashland.com or call 567-247-2273 for the Ontario location.
