“I am very excited about this great opportunity,” stated Matt Dill, Superintendent of Clear Fork. Dill reflected on a conversation he had with a former staff member that influenced his decision to resign and take a position with the Mount Vernon School District. “Life is way to short and we need to enjoy what we do and have pride in how we do it,” said Dill.
“For this reason, I want to get closer to students and working with teachers that impact students,” he added. Dill declined to give more detail about his new position.
Gary Mathes, President of Clear Fork School Board verified the decision stating,” We will accept the resignation at the August 6 board of education meeting (BOE).”
Both districts are working together as to make the transition as smooth as possible.
“We will hire an interim superintendent as quickly as possible,” Mathes also added, “We may possibly interview a potential interim at the next BOE meeting.”
Mathes noted the replacement strategy would be discussed in executive session at the BOE. “I will recommend that the position be advertised and applications accepted with no interviews or hires until the new BOE is sworn into office January 2014,” stated Mathes
Dill summarized his time at Clear Fork as positive and rewarding and added,”While it has been a honor and a privilege to serve along side of you all, I am excited to get back to this passion of mine.”
