Margaret Burke Cutliff, 78, of Mansfield, passed away early Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her home. She was born February 8, 1935 in Mansfield one of thirteen children of the late Ethel (Preston) Burke and Earl Burke. She was the greatest mother in the world to not only her children, but to many other children as well. Loving and caring for others was her passion. She served as Youth Director at the YMCA and also worked with special needs children in the area. She was a patient teacher, sharing her values with those she met.

Margaret graduated from the Cleveland Beauty College and enjoyed various activities throughout her lifetime. She worked for the campaigns of Senator John Glenn of Ohio and Doug Jamerson of St. Petersburg, FL, was a caterer, worked at the Richland County Sheriff Dept. Margaret was honored in 2013 by a proclamation from Mayor Tim Theaker when he declared June 15 as “Margaret Burke Cutliff Day”, a tribute she earned through all her hard work in the community.

She is survived by three sons, Clifford Bryant, Charles Bryant and E.J. Cutliff II; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Ray Bryant, William Ferguson and Edward Cutliff; two children, Eric Ferguson and Celeste Ferguson; and twelve brothers and sisters.

A memorial service conducted by Dr. Larry Rawls will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 275 Grace St., Mansfield. Private family burial will be held in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Margaret Cutliff.
