Joel K. “Josey” Dudte, 60, of Mansfield, died early Wednesday morning, July 24, 2013 at Oak Grove Manor. He was born June 21, 1953 in Mansfield to Monna (Eckelberry) and Clayton E. Dudte. Josey retired from Karma Metal where he worked as a machinist.

Spending time with friends and family were most important, he loved children of all ages, but most of all his grandchildren. Josey was an avid football fan, enjoyed learning about history and was a member of V.F.W. Post #3494 Auxiliary. He was a free spirit and never met a stranger during his 60 years.

He is survived by two sons, Craig (Toni) Dudte of Troy and Jason Dudte of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie and Ashlee; two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Haylee; two sisters, Bobbie Dudte and Susi (John) Davidson, both of Mansfield; and a niece and three nephews, Ian Davidson, Jessica Davidson, Fred Canary and Bill Canary. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diana “Dee” Dudte.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, July 28, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at 1917 Trolley Drive, Mansfield. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Josey Dudte.
