Brenda Kay Mathews, 56, of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord and the rest of her family, Sunday, July 14, 2013 after a long illness. She was born December 22, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late Reba (Spraggins) and Matthew Frye. Brenda was a kind hearted person who would do anything she could for anyone. She has been in nursing homes for a very long time and now she’s finally free.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her baby sister, Denise Lynn Carroll of Mansfield. Surviving are her son, Jonathan Rose and his wife, Eileen of Mansfield; two granddaughters, Whisper Rose and Sarah Patton; one great-granddaughter, Abriella Patton; two sisters, Linda Stamper, Glenda Duncan and her husband, Gary, all of Mansfield; one brother, Matthew Frye, Jr. of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 22, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Rev. John Burghard will conduct the service. Friends and family may visit beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park following the service.
