Art Explosion is a unique collaboration between the Mansfield Art Center (MAC) and regional artists. The event is an outdoor music and arts festival that showcases live music, live art, craft fair, and a variety of other activities. Art Explosion takes place on July 27 from 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Live music and bands appearing are listed to the left of this column.
A portion of the event called Art Fusion will feature three artists and three canvases will rotate on the half hour to create three collaborative pieces. Each artist will rotate canvases in an effort to enhance creativity.
Events focused on children are arranged from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Children can enjoy stations including: Large Loom Weaving Station, Sidewalk Chalk Station, Pottery Demonstration Station, Digital Storytelling Station, and Shaving Cream Marbling Station.
Other Activities include a Graffiti Wall, Polaroid Photo Booth (additional cost), and caricatures (additional cost).
The MAC is also inviting artists, crafters, and businesses to join in the event. Booth Space is $35. Spaces can be reserved until July 20. Each Vendor will be provided a 10×10 space to set up their booth. Vendors are asked to bring their own display items, but all vendors will retain 100 percent of their profits.
