At approximately 10:06 a.m. the Richland Bank on Trimble Road was robbed. The “bandit” reportedly threatened bank tellers with a gun and stole a small amount of money.
John Brown, President of Richland Bank, said the staff was safe after the incident. “They did a good job at following procedures and had the bandit out of there in a couple minutes. We should have the bank opened up in a couple hours.”
Sheriff Steve Sheldon and other deputies are in the branch currently investigating the robbery.
“I don’t understand why someone would risk their life, the life of others, and the dangers of punishment for a small amount of money,” said Brown.
