Before you leave work for home today, or drive anywhere in Richland County, it might be considerable to check out this list of road closings to plan your trip accordingly. Because of the massive flood Richland County experienced last night, many of the county’s roads are closed and awaiting water removal.
According to Greg Bush, the superintendent of the Highway Department, the following roads in central Richland County are closed and/or underwater:
Mount Zion Road in Lucas
Smart Road in Lucas
Hook Road near Crestline
Lex-Springmill in Lexington
The intersection where State Route 97 and State Route 13 is totally underwater.
Steve Pore, Shiloh Road Supervisor, announced the following roads closed in the northern part of Richland County:
London East
London West on the edge of Shelby by the reservoir. This road may be reopened later today.
