On June 24, the METRICH Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Mansfield Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville Police Department, and CACY, conducted alcohol and tobacco compliance checks throughout Richland County.
Lt. Keith Porch stated that the law enforcement groups went into 76 businesses that sold either alcohol or tobacco. Ten of those businesses sold alcohol or tobacco to underage persons.
Porch also wanted to commend the 67 businesses which were found to be in compliance and showed dedication to keeping our children safe.
The clerks of the violating businesses were issued summonses, and liquor violations are pending on the business owners as well.
A press release from METRICH containing a full list of violations and complying businesses is attached in the Related Documents section this story.
