Ann E. Perdue, 86, of Galion, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at Galion Community Hospital, after a short illness.

Ann was born in Nussdorf, Austria on May 27, 1930 to the late Anton and Karoline (Kletzl) Eder. She married Raymond "Ray" Perdue on Jan. 8, 1955 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1995.

Ann was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion. She volunteered with HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice making cards, and also made afghans and prayer shawls. Ann enjoyed spending time at Wendy’s with her friends and cooking family meals. In her younger years, she enjoyed hiking, walking, biking, mountain climbing and skiing. She had a love for reading. Ann was devoted to her family. In the past Ann had enjoyed going to the YMCA with her husband Ray.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Holloway, Cardington, Heidi Prater, Bucyrus, five grandchildren, Aaron Holloway, Clinton Holloway, Austin Holloway, Courtney Wyatt and Cally Prater, five great-grandchildren, her sister Karoline “Linni” Dietchen, Austria, numerous nieces and nephews and her special friend, Jim Waller, California.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Heinrich, Leopold, Anton and Johanna Eder, her sister, Franiska Sperr, her sons-in-law, Bob Holloway and George Prater, and her beloved miniature poodle, Cody.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Joseph Catholic Church, Galion at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, with Fr. Paul A. Fahrbach, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion.

Memorial Contributions may be made to HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice or the Galion Public Library in care of the funeral home.
