🆓 How to Create a Free Account (and What You Get)
You don’t need to be a paying member to enjoy our journalism — anyone can create a free account and read up to 5 free articles each month across Richland Source, Ashland Source, and Knox Pages.
Here’s how to get started:
- Go to RichlandSource.com
(or AshlandSource.com, or KnoxPages.com) - Click Sign In in the top-right corner
- Enter your email address
- Click “Continue”
- Choose either:
- “Email me a one-time code” (no password needed!), or
- Set a password using the link in your login email
That’s it! Once you’re logged in, you’ll automatically be able to read up to 5 articles per month for free.
💡 Tip: Creating a free account is the same as logging in for the first time with your email. You don’t need to fill out a form or choose a username — your email is your login.

Trouble Loading Pages?
Try:

- Switching browsers (Chrome or Safari works best)
💡 If links in our emails don’t work (like login codes or headlines), try copying and pasting the link into your browser manually. Chrome or Safari tend to work best.
🔐 How to Log In
If you’ve been logged out of your account, don’t worry. Logging back in is simple and secure. Here’s how to do it in just a few steps.
How Long Do I Stay Logged In?
Once logged in, you’ll stay signed in on your device for 30 days — as long as you don’t manually log out or clear cookies. You’ll need to log in again on each device you use (phone, laptop, etc.).
Step-by-Step: Log In Using a One-Time Code (No Password Needed!)
1. Go to:
2. Click “Sign In” in the upper right corner.
3. Enter your email address, then click “Continue.”
4. If you don’t have a password set up, just click:
- “Email me a one-time code instead”
5. Check your inbox for a 6-digit code — it arrives almost instantly.
You have 3 options from here:
- Paste the code into the website
- Click the “Continue to Richland Source” button in the email (magic link)
- Copy and paste the full login link from the email if preferred
6. You’re in! Once you see “My Account” in the top right, you’re successfully logged in.
💡 Tip: If the one-time code doesn’t arrive, try checking your spam or junk folder.
If you’ve already set a password, you can also click “Use my password” instead.
Want to Stay Logged In?
As long as you don’t log out or clear your browser cookies, you’ll remain signed in for 30 days on that device.
To stay signed in across devices (e.g., your phone and laptop), repeat this process on each one.
🔑 How to Set or Reset Your Password
If you’d prefer to use a password instead of a one-time code — no problem! Here’s how to create or reset your password and log in securely.
Option 1: Set a Password (If You Haven’t Yet)
- Go to your preferred site and click “Sign In”.
- Enter your email and click “Email me a one-time code instead.”
- In the email you receive, look for a link that says “Set a password” or “create your password.”
- Click the link and choose your new password.
- That’s it! You’re now logged in, and can use this password next time.
Option 2: Log In Using a Password
- Go to the site and click “Sign In.”
- Enter your email and click Continue.
- When prompted, enter your password and hit Continue.
- Once logged in, you’ll see “My Account” in the top-right corner.
Forgot Your Password?
No worries — resetting it is quick:
- On the login screen, click “Forgot Password?”
- Check your inbox for a password reset email.
- Click the link, enter a new password, and you’re back in.
Good to Know:
• You can also log in without a password using a one-time code or magic link
• You’ll stay logged in for 30 days on each device.
• You must be logged in — whether a member or not — to read full articles.
👤 How to Tell If You’re Logged In
Sometimes it’s hard to tell if you’re logged in or if you’re getting access to everything you should be. Here’s how to check:
How to Know You’re Logged In

- If you see “Sign In” → you’re not logged in ❌
To log in:
- Click Sign In
- Enter your email
- Choose to use a password or get a one-time code emailed to you
- You’re in! You’ll stay signed in for 30 days on that device

Here’s how:
- Log in and click My Account in the top-right corner
- Scroll to Email Address
- Enter your new email and click Update
You’ll receive a confirmation email at your new address — be sure to confirm it to complete the change.
📬 Not Receiving the Daily Headlines?
If you’ve stopped receiving the Daily Headlines email, here’s what to check:
- You may have unsubscribed (accidentally or on purpose)
- Your email provider may be blocking our messages
- Your address may be on an exclusion list
1. You Unsubscribed (Maybe by Accident)
Sometimes readers unsubscribe by mistake. If that happened, we can re-subscribe you manually.
What to do:
Email us at help@richlandsource.com and let us know you’d like to receive the Daily Headlines again. We’ll take care of the rest.
2. Your Email Provider May Be Blocking Us
Some email providers — especially older ones like @neo.rr.com, @embarqmail.com, or @twc.com — often reject our emails or send them to spam.
What to do:
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Add “contact@richlandsource.com” to your contact list
- If possible, update your account with a more modern email (like Gmail or Yahoo)
Still not working? Reach out, and we’ll see what we can do.
3. You’re on the Exclusion List
In rare cases, your email may be on something called the “exclusion list.” This means we legally can’t re-add you to our email list without your written permission.
What to do:
Email us at help@richlandsource.com with this message:
“Yes, I want to receive the Daily Headlines email.”
We’ll then work with our support provider to get you re-subscribed.
📧 Trouble with Your Email?
If you’re having issues logging in or not receiving our Daily Headlines, your email address might be the reason. Here’s how to troubleshoot it:
Common Issues
1. You may be using the wrong email
Try searching your inbox for “Richland Source” or “Daily Headlines” — that might help you remember which email you used to sign up.
If you signed up with a different email than you’re trying to log in with, our system won’t recognize it.
2. Your email provider might be blocking us
Some older email providers — like @neo.rr.com, @embarqmail.com, or @twc.com — often reject our emails or filter them into spam.
If you’re using one of these addresses and not receiving login codes or newsletters:
- Check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folders
- Add
contact@richlandsource.comto your contacts - Consider switching to Gmail or Yahoo for better delivery
3. There could be a typo
No judgment — it’s surprisingly easy to mistype your email during sign-up or login.
What to Do Next
If you’re still unsure:
- Try logging in with any other email addresses you use
