MANSFIELD -- The Mansfield Playhouse, 95 E Third Street, has made the decision to make adjustments to its scheduled season, publicly announced on April 25, 2019.
After discovering that another community theatre has scheduled to perform the same show within a three week span from one another, the Playhouse board decided to switch the two youth productions, performing Disney’s The Lion King Jr. in October and waiting until June of 2020 for Disney’s Frozen Jr.
"As Ohio’s second oldest community theatre, it is important to the Playhouse to ensure that all kids be given the greatest opportunities to participate in the rich culture that Mansfield has to offer regarding the arts," said a statement issued by the Playhouse. "It is vital that the board uphold its mission with the utmost integrity in achieving the highest quality in all we do, enriching and educating our audiences and volunteers, and reaching beyond the walls of the Playhouse to embrace all elements of our community.”
The Playhouse credits "the unwavering support of our volunteers and our community, including corporate sponsorship and community grants," for a reduction in ticket prices to $10 for adults and $5 for children (12 & under).
If you or your business are interested in corporate sponsorship or advertising in the full-color program book, call 419-522-8140.
Auditions for Disney’s The Lion King Jr. will be held Aug. 6 and 7, starting at 6 p.m. All youth 18 and under are encouraged to audition.
