MANSFIELD — The adage that April showers bring May flowers is a month off this year. April brought snow, deep into the month. So now we’re getting the showers we were expecting last month. Here’s hoping the precipitation brings floral color later this month.

MANSFIELD — Batten down the hatches, there’s a strong wind a blowin’ through north central Ohio this afternoon. According to Joe D. Petrycki, Director of Richland County’s Emergency Management Agency, Richland County will be under a Wind Advisory starting at noon through 8 p.m. this evening.

MANSFIELD — if you’ve got a kite, it might be too windy even for that. The wind is going to be whipping at a rate that would draw a radar gun’s attention.

MANSFIELD — Old Man Winter is a crotchety old miser, and he’s not done with us yet. Another blast of snow is expected to blanket north central Ohio over the next 72 hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The Farmer’s Almanac maintains that if March roars in like a lion, it should go out gentle, like a lamb. In between, however, the third month on the calendar continues to behave like a spoiled child — i.e. doing whatever the hell it wants.

MANSFIELD — OK, the weather isn’t going to look quite like the photo at the top of this story. But we’re not going to get hit with another severe snowstorm this weekend either, like some had feared earlier this week.

MANSFIELD — The National Weather Service in Cleveland is monitoring another system that will track across the Ohio Valley Thursday night through Friday morning. This system has the potential for a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to impact our area.
