Marjorie Sue McClure, age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026 in JAG Healthcare in Mansfield. Sue was born in Van Wert County on November 22, 1935 to the late Bertram E. & Zelma L. Harter Crates.

Sue was a 1953 graduate of Hoaglin Jackson High School in Van Wert. She married the love of her life, Dana McClure on August 13, 1955 and together they shared 70 wonderful married years. Sue and Dana moved to Mansfield in 1957 and have been proud members of the community ever since. Professionally, she spent a number of years in banking and mortgage lending in a few different banks locally.

In her spare time Sue enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking and spending time with the people she loved most. She had a very welcoming and loving personality with a sense of humor that was second to none. Sue had a true heart for people. Sue was a devoted member of Crossroads Church and loved being active and spending time with her church family. She had a very close relationship with her daughter, Shellie and granddaughter, Heather and would often spend hours with them on the phone.

She will be fondly remembered by her loving husband, Dana McClure; her daughter, Shellie Board; her grandchildren, Heather Lynn Dickey and Darrold Board, Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Rose Morton, Brennan Joseph Dickey and Camden James Dickey. Sue also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Robert McPhail and a host of extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerrold James McClure and Eddie Eugene McClure; her infant brother, Richard Norman Crates; her sister, Cheryl Ann McPhail.

Visitation will be from 11:30 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in the Marion Ave Snyder Funeral Home in Mansfield. Sue’s funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Celebrant Dave Roberts officiating. A private burial will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park.
