Bernice Morgan, 86, of Galion, went to be with Jesus on March 14, 2026, at her home in Galion.

Bernice was born in Cawood, Kentucky, on January 8, 1940, to the late Oscar and Josie (Gailey) Moore. She married William “Shorty” Morgan on July 17, 1970, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2005.

She leaves behind four brothers, Herman Moore, Charlie (Ruth) Moore, Bill (Sue) Moore, and James Moore; one sister, Rosie (Clyde) Bates; four children, Millard “Artie” (Cassie) Rowe of Tennessee, Teresa Smith of Galion, Janice (Tyler) Ruhl-Hoffman of Galion, and Amy (Elden) Mills of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Cassie, Taz, Sara, Tylor (Dawn), and Cassandra (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Walter, Kendrick, Leo, Wyatt, Brody, Evelyn, Mylan, Autumn, Akira, and Zylor; one great-great-granddaughter, Clover; and special friends, her sister-in-law, Clara Morgan, who preceded her in death, Bernice Johnson and Peter Penny.

Bernice was a caregiver who worked in home health and nursing homes. She babysat many children through the years and adopted them as her grandchildren. Bernice had a big heart. She found joy in her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Clover, her great-great-granddaughter, was the apple of her eye-her little buttercup.

She enjoyed going to church, doing word puzzles, and painting pictures on her phone. She enjoyed good conversations with family and friends. She loved playing 500 rummy and didn’t let anyone win. She enjoyed going to garage sales and Goodwill and loved to fish. She loved her church, loved singing her gospel songs, and loved attending her family reunions. She shared a special bond with Tyler, loving goofing around and shenanigans.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty; her parents, Oscar and Josie; her sisters, Doris Osborne and Eula Dockery; her brother, Lee Roy Moore; her son-in-law, Leonard Smith; and her great-granddaughter, Grace Elivia Smith.
