MANSFIELD — Allison Nething, 20, has been charged with murder in connection with the death last spring of 2 1/2-year-old Marley Milner, according to Richland County Prosecutor Gary Bishop.

The case is assigned to Richland County Common Pleas Judge James DeWeese, who set a $200,000 cash bond with conditions of no contact with minors or the victims’ family. In addition, Nething was charged with two counts of child endangerment, Bishop said in a Friday afternoon press conference.

Authorities were alerted after Marie Milner died with what the Richland County Coroner’s office described as blunt force head trauma. On April 5, 2016, the child was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield by a family member and then flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus where she died.

Bishop said Nething was the child’s baby sitter for three months leading up to her death.

“Presuming her innocence at this time, I can tell you murder has a sentence of 15-years-to-life,” Bishop said.

The other two felony charges have a maximum combined sentence of 13 years, he added.
