Robert “Bobby” Allen Eckert, Sr., 61, of Crestline, Ohio, passed away peacefully with family by his side after a short battle with cancer on Monday, February 23, 2026. Bobby was born on December 1, 1964, in Crestline, OH, the son of Melvyn Arthur Eckert and the late Sallie Eileen (Reed) Eckert. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whose love for family and the simple joys of life will never be forgotten.

Bobby spent his life building a home filled with love, loyalty, and good food. For 38 plus years, he shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Maxine Eckert. Together, they created a family that was the center of his world.

Bobby had a true appreciation for life’s pleasures. He loved old-school NASCAR, Ohio State football, a good bourbon, time on the water fishing, and especially his Rottweilers. He was known for his perfect grilling and for bringing people together around the table. More than anything, he loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by Melvyn and Kathleen Eckert, his children; Robert “Allen” (Jordyn) Eckert, Jr, Crestline, Allysha (Brett) Hoskins, Crestline, Ashton (Justin) Feeman, Bucyrus, and Jessica Miller, Florida, whom he loved like a daughter, his siblings, Jody (Bob) Mills, Matthew (Missy) Eckert, and Scott (Christi) Eckert, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bobby was a proud and loving grandfather to Kinsley, Braxton, Brantley, Tatum, Jack, Paxton, Maggie, McCartney, and Cade, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Sallie Eileen (Reed) Eckert (1968), and his father-in-law, Keith L. Miller (2017).

Bobby was never one for dressing up or formality. In his honor, the family invites guests to wear college apparel instead of traditional formal attire, a reflection of the relaxed, genuine man he was.

Bobby’s legacy lives on in the laughter, love, and memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
