Anita L. (Floyd) McCartney, 78, went to be with Her Lord on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Born July 26, 1947, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Joseph and Ellen Lucille “Lucy” (Snyder) Floyd. On August 21, 1964, Anita married her high school sweetheart and husband of fifty years, Duane E. McCartney.

She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds outside the house and collecting crosses and hummingbird memorabilia. She also enjoyed watching over all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a licensed Crawford County home daycare provider for many years, also once worked at the former Ames Dept. Store as a store clerk, Charlie’s Market in the Bakery, and Clancy’s Hamburgers as Asst. Manager.

She is survived by her sons, Brian McCartney of Mansfield, Brett (Kelly) McCartney of Galion, and Craig “Joe” (Leesa) McCartney of Galion; her daughter, Denise DeLong of Crestline; her grandchildren, Alyssa (Bo) Billman, Hailey DeLong, Hunter (Bobbie) Snyder, Dillon (Danielle) McCartney, Rachel DeLong, Payton (Jon) Metz, and Drake (Manali) DeLong; her great-granddaughters, Shaelee Hensley and Braedy Billman; her great-grandsons, Roman Metz, Brody Billman, Kai McCartney, Bryce Billman, and Quinn Stanley; and her sister, Mary Ellen (John) Lawlor of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph C. Floyd, and her great-granddaughter, Malory Metz.

Following Anita’s wishes, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Crawford County Memory Gardens.
