Robert Dane Parrigan Obituary
Robert Dane Parrigan, age 63, passed away January 20, 2026, at his residence in Fairport Harbor. The Lord called him home after a 3-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 30, 1962, in Shelby, Ohio to Samuel B. Parrigan and Golda Lee (Hale) Parrigan.
Rob was raised in Shiloh, Ohio and was a graduate of Plymouth High School. Rob was a resident of Shelby, Ohio for 35 years. He worked for the Gorman Rupp Company for 40 years where he was a machinist. He and his wife moved to Fairport Harbor in 2021 to be closer to their granddaughters. He was a member of Painesville United Methodist Church where he enjoyed working at the soup kitchen feeding the hungry. Rob was a true Cleveland sports fan and collector of baseball and football cards. He was known by his friends as a kind, generous and positive man.
Rob truly loved his granddaughters, Dayne (who was named after him) and Eden. He enjoyed taking Dayne to fly kites at Fairport Harbor Beach and to Cedar Point. He had a talent for all racket sports – racquetball, tennis and pickleball. He enjoyed teaching pickleball at the Fairport Harbor Senior Center, and taking trips back to Shelby, Ohio to play racquetball with his friends, Jimmy DeVito and Wayne Gurney.
Rob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Suzanne (Brauchler) Parrigan, who was constantly by his side through his illness; daughter, Jordyn Dane Paratore and son in law, Clay Paratore; grandchildren, Dayne and Eden Paratore; sister, Lois (Ellen) and husband, Reverend Dr. Richard Lafferty; close cousins, Belinda and Gary Runyon and close friends, Chuck and Pam Minich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Norman and Mint Hale, his cousin, Hazel Bobbie Inmon, and his in-laws Alois and Elizabeth Brauchler.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 31st from 10am-12pm followed by a service, both at Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 North Park Pl. Painesville, OH.
Family suggests that in lieu of flowers, all donations be made to the Shelby YMCA, 111 West Smiley Ave. Shelby, OH 44875, where Rob enjoyed playing racquetball.
