Joseph Marshall Wilcox, Jr., 94, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed peacefully at his home on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Joseph was born in Marion on November 18, 1930, to the late Joseph Wilcox, Sr., and Hazel (Fiant) Bower. In 1983, Joseph would marry JoAnn LeVally.

Joseph graduated from Iberia High School in 1950. He went on to further his education at Palm Beach Junior College, Santa Fe Junior College, Clemson University, and the University of Florida.

A proud American, Joseph served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1973, he moved from Galion, Ohio to Florida, where he built a successful life and career. He was the owner and operator of Double J Services and later retired as a shift supervisor from the City of Boca Raton Water Treatment Plant after 16 years of dedicated service.

Joseph was deeply proud of his military service and gave back by volunteering his time to honor fellow veterans. He cherished attending military reunions and connecting with those who served beside him. Joseph was also extremely involved in many military organizations, AmVets, VFWs, American Legions, and disabled veterans groups. Additionally, Joseph was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Galion Lodge 414, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus, Ohio and the Aladdin Shriners.

An avid sports fan, Joseph loved following high school athletics, college sports, and the pros—especially his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes and the Florida Gators. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren compete and excel in their own sports.

In his spare time, he enjoyed attending auctions and collecting glassware, coins, and tractors—always on the hunt for a unique piece to add to his collection.

In addition to his loving wife, Joseph’s memories will be cherished by his children: Pamela Ford of Las Vegas, NV., Christa Slagle of Las Vegas, NV., Joseph Mark (Brenda) Wilcox of VA., Tracy (Arancha) Wilcox of Alicante, Spain and Amy Wilcox of Eustis, FL.; Step-children: Carol (Dick) Heald of Utica, Randy McClain of Willards, MD., Beatrice (Bill) Mitchell of Cookesville, TN., Beverly (Todd) Wilcox of Wellsville, KS; sister: Janet Timmins; step-siblings: Nancy Reese, and John Bower; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
